CPI lung research at the Science Festival - "Straße der Experimente"

This past weekend, visitors at our booth on the Science Festival “Straße der Experimente” had the opportunity to delve into the world of lung research. Through an immersive walk-in lung model, researchers from the CPI showcased the structure of our lungs and demonstrated the effects of diseases and pollutants. It was an engaging experience that brought science to life!

For six years, the Science Festvial - "Straße der Experimente" has been held annually in Giessen. In collaboration with the Justus Liebig University (JLU) and the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM), researchers, schools, and associations showcase their projects related to science and technology. Approximately 10,000 curious minds attended the festival last Sunday. A total of 40 tents with experiments were available for exploration on-site.

We are pleased that our researchers had the opportunity to present their work. With the Center for Infection and Genomics of the Lung (CIGL) and, since 2011, the home of the German Center for Lung Research (DZL), Giessen is a significant location for excellent lung research. Through our Excellence Cluster Cardio-Pulmonary Institute (CPI), Giessen's lung researchers are closely connected with Goethe University Frankfurt and the Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research in Bad Nauheim.
