Girls Day 2025

Last week we had the pleasure to welcome the next generation of scientists in one of our labs. It was an inspiring day filled with hands-on learning in the lab and exciting conversations about science. The girls were not only able to gain their first experiences at the lab bench, but also get insights into the daily life of our researchers and the work of our Excellence Cluster.

The day started with an introduction into lab work and safety, explained by two young CPI members Annika and Clara. Then it was time to go to the lab bench!

Annika and Clara both study neurovascular interactions in the cardiopulmonary system and showed the girls how they perform their research on tissue samples. From tissue stainings, over Kryo-slicing to confocal microscopy, the girls gained lots of insights into Annika's and Clara's work.

Two of the girls were so inspired that they are already planning to come back for an internship! We can’t wait to see where their passion for science takes them!
