SUMMARY:Survival Skills in Flow Cytometry
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nFlow Cytometry is one of the most powerful single cell analysis methods used throughout the life sciences and medicine. Utilising Flow Cytometry we can identify and quantify many different parameters from heterogeneous samples\, analyse the corresponding state of proliferation or simply detect the expression of fluorescent reporters. We will cover the theory of Flow Cytometry and corroborate this information with practical issues of frequent assays as part of the practical course curriculum. \n  \nAudience \nThe course is designed for researchers with little/no experience in flow cytometry. This course is meant to give survival skills for approaching flow cytometry experiments. \n  \nCourse Structure\nPrinciples of Flow Cytometry \nQuality assessment and instrument validation \nPrinciples and guidelines for experimental design \nStaining cells with cell surface antigens \nBasic session on analysing data from Flow Cytometers - with and without FlowJo \n  \nLearning Objectives \nOur goal for this course is to teach the basics of the technology with emphasis on practical work at the instruments.
